I officially apologize…

…to everyone with whom I’ve ever shared a meeting, meal, or car ride where I incessantly looked down at my BlackBerry and *tappity tap tap*‘d away at my phone rather than enjoying the presence of your company
I was recently reminded of how profoundly discourteous the practice is and how annoying I must have been — and while I’ve surely racked up enough bad karma that I’ll likely be getting repaid for years,1 I want you to know I truly am sorry and hope you’ll forgive me
Law school-related content to resume tomorrow Have a great night y’all!

“Though, in fairness to me, since switching to an iPhone I’ve finally gotten into the habit of turning the ringer off whenever I’m with other people”
Heheh… I guess that’s something then! :p
One step at a time
Seriously though, for some reason having that toggle switch on the side makes it so much easier than pulling out the BlackBerry, unlocking it, pressing the menu button to pull up all the apps, scrolling to the ringer, clicking it, scrolling to the “Silent” option, clicking it, then re-locking and re-holstering it
Hm, I don’t think that disclaimer applies when I’m around…
Well yes because when you’re around it’s for days at a time
I think we’re all guilty of this. I’m still working on a personal policy that effectively balances the advantages to getting back to people quickly while at the same time remaining courtious to those around me. So far the only thing I’ve come up with is constantly excusing myself the restroom where I check my phone…..haha. Not at all ideal.
